My Why

Hi, I’m Sophie and I specialise in creating beautifully hand-drawn artwork featuring animals. My passion for animals has been a lifelong fascination, and I'm endlessly captivated by the innate connection we share with them. Despite all the differences between humans and animals, I find joy in exploring the things we have in common

I create realistic and detailed artworks of pets and wildlife through the use of colour pencils and pastels. With every stroke, I aim to capture the breathtaking beauty and gentle nuances of each animal I depict, conveying their true nature and fostering a profound connection between the viewer and the subject.

While not all of us have the privilege of living alongside the animals we love every day, we can enrich our lives by surrounding ourselves with artwork that celebrates their magnificence in all its glory

About Me

From a very young age, I've felt an incredible bond with animals, and my childhood dream was to become a Veterinarian, simply because I wanted to be surrounded by them every day!

As life unfolded, I encountered challenges with more logical and mathematical subjects, always finding myself drawn to more creative pursuits. I was a fairly quiet and shy child, never quite feeling like I fit in anywhere. Drawing became my sanctuary, my escape into an inner world where the noise and stresses of life would simply drift away. This deep connection with art has remained constant.

Despite my difficulties, I possessed a stubborn determination to follow the path I had chosen even before fully understanding who I was.

My journey led me into a retail career where I had the privilege of meeting some of the most wonderful people, learning invaluable lessons about human nature, and, most importantly, discovering my true self—a person with a deep need to create.

It wasn't until a false start at University, a 15-year career in retail, the loss of both my parents, and the joy of raising my children that my perspective finally shifted. I realised that life is too short not to spend it doing what you love. This realisation marked the beginning of my art career, despite the steep learning curve it presented.

My artistic journey has been quiet and gradual, filled with plenty of trial and error experienting with different mediums and styles. Yet, I've always been drawn to realism and detail—it's truly what I love to create. Each piece teaches me something new and helps me to progress.

I grew up in West London, but I've since relocated to Bedfordshire with my husband Amit and our two amazing children, Alyssa and Ethan. It's here that I've built the foundations of my creative business and found a place to let my creative spirit flourish.
